Somerset make it four wins out of five after Hants victory

SOMERSETwrapped up an impressive win on the final day of this LV= Insurance County Championship match against Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl.

Despite the loss of the majority of the third day due to poor weather, the team from the West Country kept their dreams of a first ever County Championship title alive with a comprehensive 10-wicket victory.

It was another excellent display from Somerset, but it was Craig Overton who once again caught the eye.

The England paceman, who is the top wicket-taker in the country, took five for 66 from a mammoth 40 overs as Hampshire were dismissed for 258, putting himself firmly in contention for selection for next month’s Test series against New Zealand.

Overton was also the top scorer in the match with 74 on Friday and finished with overall figures of seven for 82, with Josh Davey also playing a significant role in the triumph by taking five for 30 on the final day.
