Robins Romp to Victory

ROBINS romped to a 55-35 win over struggling Leicester to bolster their play-off hopes at the Abbey - and went top of the table!

On a night when racing was delayed thanks to rain, Alun Rossiter’s men went about their business in a workmanlike manner to get the job done.
And although visiting stars Hans Andersen - a title winner with the Robins in 2012 - and Scott Nicholls threatened early on with guest reserve David Howe there was very little back-up for the visitors.
They even finished in style with a 5-1 maximum on a good night of racing but Swindon had already done the job required.
CFS Filtration Robins were in a determined mood and pulled off some fine passing moves early on despite concerns over conditions after the downpour.
And boss Alun Rossiter said: “Credit to the riders from both sides, they put on a good show.
“I’m proud of my boys, we did a good job I thought, we showed a good attitude and got the job done.
“Its another three points on the board and keeps our home run going which we need to continue in the remaining weeks.
“It’s a shame the rain came when it did but I can only praise the riders and we now look forward in a positive manner to our next few meetings which will determine whether we make the top four cut. I am confident we will.”
Youngster Zach Wajtknecht was at his brilliant best as a trump card at reserve for Robins and he had good backing from Tobiasz Musielak and Adam Ellis.

SWINDON 55: Zach Wajtknecht 11+2, Tobiasz Musielak 10+2, Adam Ellis 10, David Bellego 9, Troy Batchelor 8+3, Nick Morris 7, Jack Smith 0.
LEICESTER 35: Hans Andersen 12, Scott Nicholls 10+1, David Howe 8, Charles Wright 3, Connor Mountain 1+1, Ricky Wells 1, Stuart Robson 0.
