Titans stoll home despite early shock

TAUNTON Titans made a flying start to the season in National Two South, chalking up a 49-12 home victory over newly-promoted Bournemouth

With another home game - against Redruth - this coming weekend, Titans have an early chance to make a statement.
While they made a poor start by conceding an early try through Freddie Gleadowe converted by Grant Hiscox, Titans went on to dominate the game and played some slick rugby.
Apart from scoring another try, Bournemouth had no real answer to Titans' new-look side.
Titans went on to lead 30-7 at half time, scoring tries through Charlie Williams, Olly Down, Brett Harvey and Julian Salvi, with Gary Kingdom kicking two conversions and two penalties.
The home side added further tries in the second half through Harvey (2) and James Tait, named Man of the Match, with Kingdom taking his tally for the game to 14 points with two more conversions.
Ben Roberts added a consolation try for Bournemouth towards the end.
