Wellington game against Crediton postponed - again

WELLINGTON'S scheduled rugby match at home to Crediton in Western Counties West today (Sat) was called off because of the poor state of the pitch.

It is the second successive weekend the game has been postponed because of the bad weather.
The decision to call off the match was made in time for Crediton to avoid making a fruitless trip.
Wellington coach Allyn Chetland said today: "Much of the pitch is too wet to play on. It looks like a lot of work will have to be done on it before Boxing Day's big game against Wiveliscombe at the Athletic Ground. We we certainly don't want more rain."
Only five points separate the two sides in the division and Wellington are seeking revenge for a 13-12 loss at Crediton earlier this season.
Wellington missed a last-gasp conversion in that game otherwise they would have won.
It is a crucial fixture for both teams who are beginning to lose touch with the leaders Sidmouth who are unbeaten this season. Crediton have lost only twice and Wellington three times.
