Wiveliscombe maintain winning run.

WIVELISCOMBE maintained their 100% record to stay at the top of the table after beating third placed Oldfield in far from easy conditions at the Recreation Ground.

The first half was evenly matched with the only score being a penalty for Wiveliscombe, who kicked up the hill to start with, which Aly Lane slotted home after 15 minutes.

When they changed ends the home side extended their lead courtesy of three tries, from Dan Smythe-Moore, Jason Richards and Dan Quick, one of which Quick converted, in reply to which the visitors kicked a penalty, to make it 17-3 with quarter of an hour to go.

Oldfield, however were far from done with and mounted a rearguard action which resulted in two late tries, one of which was converted.

However Wivey hung on to win 17-15 and notch up their eighth victory of the campaign.
