Impressive away win for Titans

TAUNTON Titans swept back into second spot in National Two South with a 35-21 away victory over eighth-placed Old Albanians.

Having lost at home to Henley Hawks the previous weekend, Titans needed a good result to keep up the pressure at the top of the table.

With their pack dominating the game, Titans scored five tries but could not prevent the home side from scoring three of their own, which put pressure on them towards the end.

But Titans' defence held firm as the visitors collected five points on the road.

Jarrard Hayler, Alfie Petch and Lewis Webb scored first half tries for Titans which were all converted by Gary Kingdom, and Connor Baker added another try for the visitors who were also awarded a penalty try with Kingdom kicking his fourth conversion.

Daniel Watt, Peter Warne and Toby Munday snapped up tries for the home team with Watt landing three conversions.

Next up for Titans this coming Saturday is a home game against Bury St Edmunds.
