  Taunton racing behind closed doors on December 30th  

THIS time last year Taunton racecourse were busy preparing for their post Christmas meeting - the biggest raceday of the season.

Tomorrow the Orchard Portman course will once again be hosting their December 30th meeting but this year because of the Covid 19 restrictions the action will take place behind closed doors.

On Wednesday the seven race card kicks off at 12.35pm while the last event of the day goers to post at 3.50pm.

The most valuable race on the card is the Byerley Stud Mares' Novices' Hurdle at 2.40pm. Run over two miles and half a furlong the Class 1 event which is worth over £9k to the winner has got five runners with the Bryony Frost ridden Perfect Myth from the Alan King yard likely to start odds on favourite.
