Runners face one of the toughest races of the year

A MAXIMUM 300 runners will be taking part in one of the toughest events in the South West on Sunday - the Wellington Monument Race.

The race covers 6.27 miles, much of it off-road, and is again being organised by Taunton Athletic Club.
It starts outside the Catherine Wheel in Hemyock at 10a.m. and the route takes runners around the Wellington Monument and back again.
Because 300 runners have applied, no entries will be taken on the day.
