Ed is top of the shots

OLYMPIC trap clay shooting bronze medallist Ed Ling, of Nynehead, near Wellington in Somerset, is now ranked number one in the world.

He is the first Great Britain shooter to hold such a ranking.

He won his medal following a shootout against Czech David Kostelecky at the Rio Olympics in Brazil in August, 2016, an event which was watched live by a television audience.

He is coached by his father Steven and is married to Abbey who is also an international shot.
In August Ed won trap silver at the World Shotgun Championships in Moscow.

The 2017 silver is the second individual world medal of his career - adding to his second finish in 2014. He also secured bronze in the team trap event in 2011.
