T&P Juniors end their season in winning style

 

CONGRATULATIONS to the T&P Juniors who won the Somerset Junior League Jamboree for the first time in nine years when it took place at Wheathill Golf Club last weekend.

The T&P team of Bailey Langford, Charlie Hooper, Dillon Watts and Pierre Clifford had a team stableford total with three scores to count out of four of 115 points to win by one point, so it was thrilling to the end.

Mike Hooper the junior organiser at T&P said: “This is the first time in 9 years that the section has won the event, so its a real achievement and well done to the juniors involved. Everybody at T&P would also like to thank Mike Perry, the president of the junior league, for organising the event and presenting the prizes at the end of a great day.”

This was a fitting way for Bailey Langford to conclude his year as Junior Captain, during which not only have the section enjoyed considerable success but he has had a trial for England end reduced his handicap to 3.
On Tuesday the Ladies at Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club took part in a Dallas Scramble, medal format played in teams of three.
 
At the end it was Berni Hatcher, Jan Hill and Shirley Portis  with nett 55 who won on count-back from , Lennox Heath, Liz Cutler and Liz Reeve, who also returned with the same score.
