  Enmore Seniors enjoy mixed fortunes  
 

THE Senior Section at Enmore Park Golf Club made the most of the continuing good weather and enjoyed playing three matches, which had very contrasting results.

On Monday seven pairs travelled to Budleigh Salterton to play their compatriots from East Devon GC, where the home side won all the matches.

The following day at Cricket St Thomas, the skipper Peter Scott and his partner, Kevin Lewis were the only winners for Enmore, triumphing by 2 &1 while Keith Norcutt and Jeff Saunders halved their encounter.

On Thursday, honour was restored with the visit to Enmore of Tiverton Vets. Enmore's winners were Peter Scott with Steve James (2 up), Dave Pascoe and Steve Lukins by 5 &4 and Jess Lawrence and Vince Coombes (1 up). Keith Norcutt and Jeff Saunders achieved their second halved match of the week and Iain Stewart Chris Bishop also halved their match.

Last week nine members of the Ladies Committee played for the Monks Salver, a trophy that was donated to the club by Barbara Monks.On a beautiful day with the course in excellent condition the Stableford competition was won by Jackie Woodman, Captain Elect with a score of 42 points, after which the Ladies enjoyed a cream tea.

The winners of Saturday’s Pro Sop 4BBB Stableford that attracted 64 entrants were Sean Jones who plays off a handicap of 10 and Andrew Merrick (2) with 47 points, Kevin Lewis (11) and Rob Loder (4) were second with 45 while third place was claimed on count back by Martin Innalls (2) and Paul Windsor (12) with 44.
