Wembdon are still unbeaten in Saturday League

WEMBDON have maintained their unbeaten record in the first division of the Invest Southwest Taunton and District Saturday League.

They beat Watchet Town Reserves 2-0 away and are now only one point behind the leaders Bishops Lydeard Reserves - with two games in hand. Wembdon's scorers were Ed Habberfield and Will Bartlett.
Porlock suffered their 11th defeat of the season when they slumped 4-1 away to Redgate whose scorers were Mark Witchell (2), Cory McKay and Michael Hart.
There is no change at the top of the second division where FC Castlemoat maintained their three-point lead at the top with a 3-1 home victory over Bridgwater Grasshoppers while Stogursey, in second spot, kept up the pressure - they also have two matches in hand - with a 2-1 success against North Curry with Matt Stevenson and Dan Glover finding the back of the net.
Adam Kelland netted both goals for Dulverton Town who drew 2-2 at Norton Fitzwarren while Butlins beat Minehead Town Reserves 3-2 at home in a West Somerset derby.
Wembdon Reserves hammered lowly Exmoor Ringers 6-0 at home to stay top of Division Three but second-placed Staplegrove Crusaders are still in touch after beating visiting Bridgwater Sports Colts 3-0 with Aaron Dunbar on target with two, the other coming from Alec Jones.
Mike Kearley (2), Steve Scorse, Lee Hellier, Ollie Ransom and Phil Hollingsworth hit the goals for Hamilton Foxes who were 6-1 home winners over Norton Fitzwarren Reserves, while North Petherton Reserves' marksmen in a 7-1 win away to Morganians Reserves were Harry Cavill (2), Ben Howell, Henry Egerton, Matt Phippen, Dean Quinn and Dan Wilkes.
Wellington A, beaten only once this season, were held to a goalless draw away to Nether Stowey while Jamie Woodland and Josh Martin scored for Wyvern United in their 2-1 win at Galmington.
In the Rowbarton Charity Cup Creech Cougars were 4-1 winners over White Eagles with Tom Barnes (2), Scott Reynolds and Jack Farmer on target, and North Petherton won a penalty shootout 3-1 after drawing 1-1 with Morganians.
Meanwhile, Bishops Lydeard Reserves moved into the semi-finals of the Somerset Junior Cup with a hard-earned 5-3 away win over Taunton League first division rivals Alcombe Rovers.
Lydeard's skipper Pat Sherwood was Lydeard's star, scoring two goals, one from near the halfway line, to sink Rovers who had fought back to make it 3-3 with only 12 minutes left of the game.
Andy James (2) and Paul Stimpson were the other scorers for Lydeard who have now gone 17 games without defeat.
Another Taunton side Bridgwater Sports join Lydeard in the semi-finals after winning 4-1 against West Hill Sports with strikes by Matt Fursland (2), Ollie Downs and Travis Mark.
