Taunton without Irish for a spell

TAUNTON Town will be without their outstanding goalkeeper Lloyd Irish for a spell next month. Irish has been given the go-ahead to visit his girlfriend in Australia and will be replaced by Mike Davis who plays for The Army.

Taunton’s head of football Rob Dray said: “Lloyd has been suffering from a few niggling injuries and this will give him an opportunity to take a rest. We have an ideal replacement in Mike Davis.”

Meanwhile, Taunton will be in action tomorrow night (Tuesday) when they play away to Wincanton Town in the second round of the Somerset Premier Cup.

Dray plans to field a development side based on the club’s partnership with Bridgwater & Taunton College, giving promising young players a taste of first team football.
