Taunton Town keep pressure up on leaders

TAUNTON Town kept up the pressure at the top of Southern Premier South and moved up to third place with a hard-earned 1-0 away victory over Swindon Supermarine.

It was a crucial win for Rob Dray’s boys after being dumped out of the FA Cup and FA Trophy in successive games.

The only goal of a match of few scoring chances was scored five minutes before half time by Ben Adelsbury who netted with a smashing free-kick from 25 yards.

Supermarine tried to fight back in the second-half but were foiled by a rock-hard Taunton defence.
Taunton included latest signings Lewis Hall from Hereford FC and Ed Palmer who has rejoined the
Somerset side after a spell with Truro City.

Like all teams around the country, both teams observed a minute’s silence before the start for the Leicester City helicopter tragedy.
