Unbeaten Lydeard step up the pressure

 

BISHOPS Lydeard Reserves maintained their unbeaten record in the first division of the Invest Southwest Taunton Saturday League with an impressive victory over Redgate today.

Lydeard won 4-1 at home with Pat Sherwood (2), Rhys Ford and Louis Wood snapping up the goals. Redgate's marksman was Cam Wilkinson. With the top two sides not in league action, Lydeard are now only three points behind leaders Bridgwater Sports - and have a crucial game in hand.
Struggling Morganians won in style, beating Watchet Town Reserves 4-1 with Jon Harriott (2) and Ben Chorley scoring - and there was also an own goal.
Jack Millard and Tim Butt scored for Westonzoyland who dropped two points in a 2-2 away draw against Alcombe Rovers while North Petherton were 5-2 home winners over Creech Cougars.
North Curry maintained their three-point lead at the top of Division Two with a 4-2 home win over Norton Fitzwarren whose scorers were Josh Moore and James Wyatt while Stogursey hammered Dulverton Town 10-1 home with hat-tricks from Matt Stevenson and Jack Reed, with Josh Tapp (2), Bradley Baker and Mike Watts scoring the others. FC Castlemoat remain second after beating Minehead Town Reserves 3-0 away.
L Ozminkowski (2), L Kieban and S Gawlowski were on target for White Eagles who won 4-2 at home to Bridgwater Grasshoppers whose goals came from Dan Steele and Martin Woodland.
Staplegrove Crusaders kept up the pressure at the top of Division Three with a 12-0 thumping of Morganians Reserves with Aaron Dunbar hitting five goals, the others coming from Lewis Coward (3), Luke Cannings (3) and Alexis Girardin.
Wyvern United proved too hot for Hamilton Athletic Foxes, winning 10-1 at home with Kane Walsh slamming a hat-trick, with others from Ben Walford, Brein Cosgrove, Mark Beckhurst, Jamie Woodland, Lloyd Alley, Mark Cox and Danny Wharton.
There was also a big win for Nether Stowey who won 8-1 away to Minehead Colts with Chris McKee scoring four, with others from Cheney Mogford, Steve Plowright and Brad Brooks- and there was also an own goal.
Shaun Kitchen scored for Galmington Dragons Reserves who drew 1-1 with visitors Norton Fitzwarren Reserves whose scorer was P Marshall-Osborne while Exmoor Rangers were 2-1 victors against North Petherton Reserves with Ryan Mapledoram and Matt Howieson finding the back of the net. Henry Egerton scored for Petherton.
In the League K0 Cup in midweek, Galmington Dragons won 3-2 against Bridgwater Sports Reserves with Jack Vile, Keith Jordon and Rhys Elliott on target while Adam Langdon was the match-winner for Porlock who won 1-0 against Alcombe Rovers in the same competition.
In the Seward Cup, Gary Shier scored twice for Staplegrove Crusaders who knocked out Wyvern United 4-2.
