  Somerset hostWorcestershire in two day game Thursday  

SOMERSET welcome Worcestershire to the Cooper Associates County Ground tomorrow (Thursday) for a two-day pre-season friendly match which is due to get underway at 11am.

In this game teams can bat for a maximum of 60 overs in their first innings.

The Somerset squad of 13 for this game is- Ben Green, Tom Lammonby, George Bartlett, James Hildreth, Eddie Byrom, Steve Davies+, Craig Overton (c), Roelof van der Merwe, Lewis Goldsworthy, Kasey Aldridge, Marchant de Lange, Josh Davey and Ned Leonard.

Craig Overton will captain the side and on the eve of the game he said: “It will be nice to get back out playing on grass and all the boys are looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead. That starts against Worcestershire this week and we’re all up for it.

“Being named as skipper is obviously a nice feeling and it’s a great honour to captain this Club, even in a pre-season game. It’s a game I’m looking forward to and hopefully we can start the season well.”

Somerset’s next pre-season match takes place on Tuesday March 23rd when we welcome Gloucestershire to the Cooper Associates County Ground for a two-day friendly.
