Somerset losing seven players to The Hundred

SEVEN of Somerset's leading one day players will be missing from the county scene for one month this coming summer whilst they are involved in the inaugural staging of The Hundred competition which was postponed last year due to Covid.

Tom Abell, Tom Banton, Max Waller, Roelof ven der Merwe, Lewis Gregory, Tom Lammonby and Craig Overton will all be involved in the month long competition which runs between July 21st and August 21st.

During this period the 50 Over Royal London One Day Cup competition will be taking place, a trophy which Somerset won when it was last sontested back in 2019.

The absence of seven players who would be in the first team means that there will be an opporunity for some of the younger players to step up.
